What is MyMedicare?

MyMedicare is a voluntary program introduced by the Australian Government to strengthen the connection between you, your GP, and the broader healthcare system. By registering, you can access more personalised, coordinated, and continuous care—especially if you have ongoing or complex health needs. The program is designed to ensure you receive the right care, at the right time, tailored to your individual health circumstances.

Key Benefits of Registering for MyMedicare:

  • Better Care Coordination: Your GP or medical provider can more effectively manage your health, ensuring that your care is well-coordinated, especially for chronic conditions.
  • Access to Longer Consultations: If registered, you’ll be able to access longer MBS-rebatable telephone consultations, providing you with better access to healthcare services when you need them.
  • Improved Health Outcomes: With MyMedicare, your healthcare team will work together to provide tailored care, helping you avoid unnecessary hospital visits and manage your health more effectively.
